New city hall in Corner Brook, N.L., considered friendly to the environment

CORNER BROOK, N.L. - The largest community in western Newfoundland has a new city hall.

Premier Kathy Dunderdale was on hand today for the official opening in Corner Brook.

The provincial government contributed $15 million toward the project, while the city spent $7 million.

The 10,000-square-metre facility includes office space for city staff along with the Corner Brook Museum and a public library.

The museum is now in the city's old courthouse, which was incorporated into the new design.
