Two people are dead and one is still in hospital with serious injuries after a home collapsed on them in Saint-Amable, Que.
Police said the three were attempting to move a pre-fabricated home just after 2 p.m. Friday when it collapsed, trapping them under it.
Capt. Yannick Parent of the Richelieu-Saint-Laurent Regional Police said rescuers came to the scene and freed the victims.
Two of the victims were unconscious, and all three were taken to hospital. Two were later pronounced dead.
One of the victims was the owner of the house.
Parent said the other victims were friends of the owners or local handymen, and not necessarily a specific company moving the house.
He said there was no one inside the mobile home, which is still in one piece.
Saint-Amable is on Montreal's South Shore.
