TORONTO - Celine Dion has found yet another famous, if unlikely, fan: unpredictable NBA star Ron Artest.
The Los Angeles Lakers forward attended one of Dion's performances in Las Vegas over the weekend and went on a tweeting spree afterwards, proclaiming that the show was "crazy dope."
"I'm at Celine dion concert! Backstage!! Wow!!! Me and my boys!! Wow!!! She said she love my Jimmy Kimmel show when I had my beard on!!!!!!!!" he tweeted.
Later, he added: "Celine made me and all my thug friends cry with the French song!!!! She cried !!! Wow!!!! She hugged me !! I got chills!!"
"I think Celine show will entertain anyone!"
The starstruck former NBA all-star, who is reportedly petitioning the L.A. courts to allow him to change his name to Metta World Peace, posted a photo of his entourage and Dion together.
And the 31-year-old Artest, who described himself as one of Dion's groupies, later changed his profile picture to a snapshot of himself with his arm around the 10-time Grammy-winning Quebec chanteuse.
Artest's fixation on Dion actually dates back quite a while.
He previously said in an interview with ESPN's magazine that he cried while watching "Titanic" because of Dion's smash-hit song — the same tune ("My Heart Will Go On") that the one-time rapper sang in a YouTube video posted back in 2009.
