Mark Webber to drive for Red Bull through 2012 season after extending contract

LONDON - Mark Webber has extended his contract with Red Bull and will race for the team until at least the end of the 2012 season.

The 35-year-old Australian says in a Red Bull statement released Saturday that his "motivation to achieve the best results possible both for myself and the team is still very high."

Webber joined Red Bull from Williams in 2007 and has won six races. He challenged for the drivers' championship last year, but ended up third as teammate Sebastian Vettel took the title with a late surge.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner says the Webber and Vettel partnership "is a very strong one, they push each other hard and we are extremely happy the pairing will remain unchanged for a fourth season."
