Li Yanfeng of China wins discus at world championships, beating German rival Nadine Mueller

DAEGU, South Korea - Li Yanfeng of China won the gold medal in the women's discus at the world championships Sunday, beating Nadine Mueller of Germany and Yarelis Barrios of Cuba.

Li took the lead on her second attempt with a throw of 66.52 metres. Mueller took silver with 65.97 and Barrios got bronze with 65.73.
