Pedestrian hit by police vehicle

A man was taken to hospital after he was hit by a police car Friday evening at the corner of René Lévesque Boulevard and University Street.

Montreal police said the pedestrian suffered an injury to his ankle, but it is not life-threatening.

The westbound lanes of René Lévesque were closed shortly before 6 p.m. as police investigated the crash.

The investigation will be handled by an outside police service.
