NDP promises Manitoba voters 200 more doctors over next four years

WINNIPEG - Premier Greg Selinger is promising 200 more doctors and 50 new physicians assistants over the next four years if his NDP government is re-elected Oct. 4.

The positions would cost just over $77 million a year.

Selinger also says the NDP would create 22 more medical residencies.

He says every Manitoban should have access to a family doctor.

Selinger is also again attacking Progressive Conservative health-care promises, even though they have some similarities with the NDP platform.

He says the Tories haven't committed the money needed to keep their promises, but the Conservatives accuse the NDP of misreading their platform.
