Alberta auctioneer escapes abduction

Alberta businessman Blair Vold is back home after being kidnapped at gun point from his home southwest of Ponoka Thursday morning.

Vold, owner of Vold, Jones and Vold Auction Co. and a number of other businesses in central Alberta, was forced into a truck by an armed man and driven to a bank in Lacombe, Alta. say RCMP.

As the kidnapper was trying to take money out of Vold's account, Vold escaped and called police.

The suspect drove off in a newer silver four-door Chevrolet pick up truck, said police.

RCMP are still searching for the suspect, described as 6', slender with a white moustache and goatee.

The suspect, who police believe targeted Vold, hid his face during the abduction, but was caught on security tape at the bank.

Vold was not hurt.
