Veteran linebacker Ray Mariuz comes out of retirement to rejoin Ticats

HAMILTON - Ray Mariuz is coming out of retirement to rejoin the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The six-foot-three, 228-pound Mariuz hung up his cleats following the 2010 campaign after eight CFL seasons with Toronto and Hamilton. A native of Mississauga, Ont., Mariuz registered 157 defensive tackles, 157 special-teams tackles and six sacks during his pro career.

He was the Ticats nominee as top Canadian in 2008 and his 76 special-teams tackles are sixth-most in club history.

Hamilton also added defensive linemen Jerry Brown and Justin Mincey and defensive backs Ryan Jones and Woodny Turenne to its practice roster.
