A sketch of Olive Crane, leader of Prince Edward Island's Progressive Conservative party:

Born: Oct. 28, 1957.

Education: Earned a degree in social work from Dalhousie University in Halifax in 1991.

Early career: Worked for the provincial government, becoming director of the Department of Social Services. Also owner and operator of a wild blueberry farm.

Political career: First elected to legislature in March 2006 and became party leader in 2010.

Personal: Married to Paul Affleck, and they have three adult children, Lindy, Drew and Lydia.

Quote: "What an exciting evening for democracy, for P.E.I. and for our P.E.I. P.C. party," Crane after Monday night's vote which saw her Tories lose the election, but gain three seats.
