Plebiscite results favour new rural community in northern New Brunswick

KEDGWICK, N.B. - A move to create a new rural community of Kedgwick in northern New Brunswick is gaining momentum.

Elections NB says 80 per cent of the people who voted in a recent plebiscite are in favour of a proposed incorporation.

The new community would incorporate the local service district of the parish of Grimmer and the village of Kedgwick.

Elections NB says 337 votes were in favour of the proposal, while 85 votes were opposed.
