EDMONTON - An enumerator in Calgary has lost a binder with basic information on voters in one area of the city.
Elections Alberta says the binder contained names, addresses, phone numbers and, in some cases, birth dates for voters in a polling subdivision of Calgary-Greenway.
The loss was reported last week to police and to the office of the information and privacy commissioner.
Elections Alberta says it apologizes to the individuals involved.
The chief electoral officer has sent a letter to everyone whose name was in the binder outlining what happened.
A retired RCMP officer is assisting Elections Alberta in its investigation.
