McCallum equals CFL record for kicking 28 consecutive field goals

VANCOUVER - B.C. Lions placekicker Paul McCallum has tied a CFL record.

McCallum kicked his 28th consecutive field goal of the season at 14:08 of the second quarter Saturday night in the Lions' game against the Calgary Stampeders.

The 47-yard field goal ties the record set by Dave Ridgway of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1993.

So far this year McCallum has been good on 34 of 36 field goals.

The 41-year-old McCallum already holds the CFL record for the longest field goal. He made a 62-yard kick against the Edmonton Eskimos on Oct. 27, 2001, when he played for Saskatchewan.
