Nova Scotia Premier to lead one-week trade mission to Israel and West Bank

HALIFAX - Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter will travel to the Middle East on Wednesday on a week-long provincial trade mission to Israel and the West Bank.

The premier's office says the goal is to build on existing business relationships and to create new opportunities in areas such as information and communications technology, clean technologies, and marine and life sciences.

Dexter will meet with Israeli President Shimon Peres and with Palestinian Minister of National Economy Hasan Abu-Libdeh.

He will be accompanied by his principal secretary Matt Hebb and several officials from Nova Scotia Business Inc., including CEO Stephen Lund.

Some Nova Scotia businesses will also make the trip, including Dalhousie University, the Brain Repair Centre and the Halifax Port Authority.

The premier's office says all of the business people who make the trip will be paying their own way.
