Lucy the cat back home in Alberta after three-month adventure in B.C.

VANCOUVER - She can't say what she's been up to for the past three months, but Lucy the cat appears very happy to be home again.

The nine-year-old feline is back with her loving family in Edmonton after wandering off from a campsite near Nelson, B.C. in July.

The S-P-C-A says a Nelson resident found Lucy hanging around a local marina earlier this month. Fortunately she wearing an ID tag, and her owners in Edmonton were contacted.

Victor Stevenson says he and his family travelled 1,400 kilometres in 16 hours Wednesday to pick up Lucy from the S-P-C-A branch in Cranbrook where she'd been transferred.

Nelson S-P-C-A manager Julie Fletcher suggests Lucy may have used up some of her nine lives during her adventure, noting the area surrounding the campsite is home to many wild animals.

Stevenson says he never expected to see Lucy again, and is overjoyed to have her back. He says the family is now looking forward to celebrating Lucy's 10th birthday in February.
