Alberta NDP says former health minister misled house on privatization

EDMONTON - Alberta's New Democrats say they has evidence that former health minister Gene Zwozdesky (zwahz-DEHS'-key) misled the legislature.

NDP Leader Brian Mason says new documents cast doubt on what Zwozdesky said last year on the government's plan for more privatized health care.

Zwozdesky said at the time that a leaked government briefing document outlining more privatized care wasn't a briefing document.

He said it was just a collection of opinions pulled from public hearings.

But Mason says his party has now found the original report that led to the briefing document.

He says the original report contained the same suggestions for privatized care and was created before public opinion was even sought.
