Occupy Edmonton gets cash from Wall Street counterpart for cold-weather gear

EDMONTON - Occupy protesters camped in a downtown Edmonton park are getting a little help from their friends.

A spokesperson for the Edmonton group says Occupy Wall Street has approved a $7,500 donation to help pay for cold-weather gear.

Lyndsay Werbecky says that means Edmonton protesters will be able to carry on through the winter.

Werbecky says Occupy Wall Street voted for the cash after Edmonton protesters asked for a show of support.

Edmonton is one of the most northern cities where the movement has set up.

Protesters camped on land owned by a private company have been asked to leave, but no action has been taken against them.
