Thomas Lukaszuk: Alberta Education Minister Fooled By Teens In Bogus Police Cruiser

ST. ALBERT, Alta. - Alberta's education minister is not amused by a prank two teenagers pulled when they pulled him over by posing as police officers.

Thomas Lukaszuk (loo-KAH'-zuhk) says he was driving into the Edmonton-area community of St. Albert Monday afternoon when a car with flashing red and blue lights pulled up behind him.

Thinking he was being halted by an unmarked police car, Lukaszuk eventually stopped but soon realized he wasn't dealing with legitimate officers when he saw the teens' young faces in the front seat.

He got their licence number and followed them until real officers showed up to deal with the bogus police.

RCMP say they're considering laying charges against the 18-year-old driver and his 15-year-old passenger.

Lukaszuk says the public can't afford to have people questioning whether the officers they see in police cars are real or fake. (CHED)
