Police boost patrols in north Toronto after girl allegedly abducted, assaulted

TORONTO - Toronto police say they've beefed up their presence in a north Toronto neighbourhood where a young girl was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted on Boxing Day.

Police say residents in the Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue area are concerned and have been co-operating with the investigation.

It's alleged a man took the girl from a home in the neighbourhood around 3 a.m.

She was found shortly afterward by relatives who reported seeing a man running away.

Police have released few details about the investigation and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
