Kicking Horse ski resort sold to Calgary company

A B.C. ski resort — Kicking Horse Mountain Resort near Golden — has been sold by its Dutch owners to one of the biggest ski hill operators in North America.

Calgary-based Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, which already owns resorts in Fernie, Kimberley, Nakiska, Mont-Sainte-Anne, and Stoneham, confirmed it bought the resort near the B.C.-Alberta border on Thursday.

No price was disclosed and the director of marketing Eric Whittle says not much will change in the near future.

"Initially it's business as usual. Over time I'm sure there is going to be some development and looking for opportunities of growth," said Whittle.
