One person has been found dead after fire broke out in a Boucherville home Thursday night.
Just after 9 p.m., a passerby spotted smoke coming from the home at 1100 du Perche Street and called 911.
Emergency crews quickly set up a perimeter around the home. It took more than two hours to bring the flames under control.
Firefighters found a body in the basement of the home.
Due to the extent of the damage, investigators haven't been able to determine the gender of the victim, according to Longueuil police.
Longueuil police are now investigating the incident, however there is no evidence to suggest the fire was deliberately set.
The cause of the blaze hasn’t been determined.
