Yet another suicide in Quebec jail in macabre copycat case

GATINEAU, Que. - For the second time this week, someone accused of killing a family member has died from a suspected suicide in a Quebec prison.

Katherine Dufresne, accused of murdering her daughter in Chelsea, Que., killed herself at a prison in nearby Hull.

The suspected cause of death was hanging.

That's the same suspected cause of death as Paul Laplante, who died Monday in a Montreal prison.

Laplante is a former small-town mayor who was accused of murdering his wife Diane Gregoire, who'd been missing for four years until her body was found.
