Teen dies in Outaouais vehicle accident

A 17-year-old boy is dead after a vehicle accident in Quebec's Outaouais region on Saturday evening.

The Pembroke, Ont. resident was driving along Desjardinsville Road in L'Isle-aux-Allumettes, Que., which is across the Ottawa river from Pembroke.

Quebec provincial police said it appeared he took a curve too fast, lost control of the pick-up truck he was driving, and the truck flipped several times.

First responders tried to resuscitate the teenager on the way to a hospital in Pembroke, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said alcohol was not involved.
