Former pediatrician at Edmonton hospital guilty of sexually assaulting boys

EDMONTON - A former pediatrician-in-training at Edmonton's Stollery Children's Hospital has been found guilty of sex-related offences against young boys.

Javier Cortes, 33, was accused of sexually assaulting a pair of boys under the age of 16 back in 2009.

The boys were not his patients and none of the attacks took place at the hospital.

Cortes has been found guilty on two counts of sexual interference, and one count of invitation of sexual touching.

He'll be back in court on Friday to set a sentencing date.
