Toronto-based Wesley Badanjak named new designer for relaunched Basch label

TORONTO - Wesley Badanjak is taking the helm of the relaunched Basch brand.

The Toronto-based designer has established himself on the homegrown style scene with his Lovas label, launched in 2008, and by regularly showcasing collections at Toronto Fashion Week.

Tamar Matossian, general manager of Canadian manufacturer Eleventh Floor Apparel, said in statement Wednesday that they were confident Badanjak's talent and experience "will bring a fresh eye to this urban-edged feminine line."

Basch was previously designed by Brandon R. Dwyer, a former "Project Runway Canada" contestant.

Badanjak's inaugural collection for the label is slated to be unveiled in Toronto on March 6 with the presentation of the Basch fall-winter 2012 line.

The runway showcase will include the winning design from the Basch It Up student-design competition, which will be incorporated into the fall-winter collection.
