Vancouver shooting sends one man to hospital

One man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg following a shooting in a suite near Vancouver hospital on Friday morning.

Vancouver police say the shooting took place on the 500 block of West 10th Avenue near Cambie Street just before 6:30 a.m. PT

Traffic has been diverted from West 10th Ave. between Ash and Cambie streets as police conduct their investigation.

When officers arrived they found a man in his 30’s suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to hospital where he’s being treated for non-life threatening injuries, said police.

Const. Lindsay Houghton said the motive for the shooting is unknown, but early indications are that it was targeted.

"The victim, who is known to police, is not being cooperative with police and there are currently no suspects. Officers have cordoned off the area to process the scene," said Houghton.
