Fore! Warm weather means golf course opens for season in southern Alberta

PICTURE BUTTE, Alta. - Golfers in southern Alberta should be thinking about booking their tee times.

The course in Picture Butte north of Lethbridge is opening for the season on Wednesday.

Golf pro Chris Dipasquale (dee-pih-SKALL'-ee) says nine holes — complete with greens — are ready and the full 18 holes will be open by the weekend.

Dipasquale says the golf club doesn't usually open until late April, but abnormally dry and warm weather has changed that.

He says the course has never opened this early in its 50-year history.

The mild winter has also got the pothole patrol out in Calgary.
