22 Minutes Takes A Trip Back To The 1980s With Alan Thicke And Ben Mulroney Playing Brian (VIDEO)

WATCH: Ben Mulroney Does His Best Dad Impression For 22 Minutes

When your father is a former prime minister, it can be tough to get out from underneath his shadow.

Ben Mulroney, however, has done just that. In fact, the Canadian television star was comfortable enough with having a famous father that he didn't mind doing his best Brian impression for "This Hour Has 22 Minutes."

In an episode devoted to the 1980s (originally aired in October), Alan Thicke conducts an interview with Brian Mulroney, played by Ben.

Thicke relentlessly jokes about the GST, leading Mulroney to insist, "look, it's just something we're looking into, we're not actually going to do it ... probably."

Mulroney gets the last laugh though, when Thicke begs the PM for help getting a green card so he can work on "Growing Pains." Turns out Thicke was in deep with some "very bad people" and needed the cash. Who knew?
