TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,458.30, down 27.29 points):

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Insurer. Up five cents, or 0.4 per cent, at $12.64 on 14,217,658 shares.

Uranium One Inc. (TSX:UUU). Miner. Up 16 cents, or 5.71 per cent, at $2.96 on 8,134,088 shares.

Yellow Media Inc. (TSX:YLO). Directory publisher. Up three cents, or 30 per cent, at 13 cents on 6,732,867 shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Up four cents, or 0.88 per cent, at $4.58 on 5,369,689 shares.

Lundin Mining Corp. (TSX:LUN). Miner. Up four cents, or 0.80 per cent, at $5.04 on 5,253,155 shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Down 18 cents, or 0.89 per cent, at $19.97 on 4,836,798 shares. Encana is selling a chunk of its undeveloped British Columbia natural gas lands to Japanese firm for $2.9 billion.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,658.15, up 10.03 points):

Pinecrest Energy Inc. (TSXV:PRY). Oil and gas. Up 10 cents, or 3.29 per cent, at $3.14 on 8,669,250 shares.

Palliser Oil & Gas Corp. (TSXV:PXL). Oil and gas. Up eight cents, or 11.94 per cent, at 75 cents on 5,302,083 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Cott Corp. (TSX:BCB). Soft drink manufacturer. Down 29 cents, or 4.28 per cent, at $6.48 on 654,454 shares. The company reported it lost US$12 million or 12 cents a share for the three months ended Dec. 31. That compared with a net profit of profit of US$15 million or 16 cents in the year-earlier quarter as margins shrunk because of higher commodity costs.

Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB). Oil and gas. Down $1.62, or 4.13 per cent, at $37.58 on 2,756,841 shares. The company said it's likely to add further expansions to its Gulf Coast-bound oil pipeline, designed to relieve a major supply glut in the American mid-continent, after it comes into service later this year.
