VERNON, B.C. - A Paralympic athlete from Vernon, B.C., says appearing on the Ellen Degeneres television talk show was a dream come true.
Josh Dueck travelled to Los Angeles to appear on the show Wednesday.
The 31-year-old says he was invited after the YouTube video of his ground-breaking sit-ski back flip went viral, catching the attention of the show's producers.
Dueck says ever since his contributions to sit-skiing began to be recognized, he has wanted to appear on the Degeneres show, and he describes the actress and comedian as funny, down-to-earth and genuinely interested in his story.
At the end of the interview, Degeneres presented Dueck with a ski helmet and jacket covered with the name Ellen.
Dueck says the TV exposure will be good for the sport of sit-skiing and also for the Live It! Love It! Foundation, a new organization he supports, which provides outdoor adventures for the disabled. (CKIZ)
