NEW YORK, N.Y. - Elie Tahari must be feeling blue — and navy and teal and turquoise.
The designer debuted a fall collection Wednesday at New York Fashion Week that presented clothing in dark sapphire hues. He also used jewel tones of purple, red and pink.
It was a line of largely separates: trousers, blouses, dresses and vests.
The materials ranged from wearable jerseys to more fine silks.
And then there was the fur. Tahari used real coloured fur in many looks, accessorizing with fur collars, fur coats and fur scarfs. He used fur on bags and even a red fur ring.
Tahari also made room for outerwear. Most were dressy jackets, blazers and coats but he also added a few puffer coats.
Many of the models carried clutches, which Tahari made with red, gold and blue crocodile.
