Toronto Batman: "Batman's Night Out" YouTube Video Features Caped Crusader

WATCH: Batman Copycat Roams City

He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight. Or just a guy with a Batman suit roaming Toronto.

Toronto's masked hero is not Bruce Wayne, but Alex Brovedani, who has gained notoriety through the viral YouTube video, "Batman's Night Out," OpenFile revealed.

Brovedani, a Woodbridge, Ont. native, first dressed as Batman in 2005, busked on Hollywood Blvd in 2006, and is currently busking Gotham -- er, Toronto's downtown core, the Toronto Star reports.

The YouTube video that made Brovedani famous features him doling out one-liners in a Christian Bale-esque voice to amused and confused Torontonians. The project originally began as "Shit Batman Says," according to the YouTube description. So what shit does Batman say?

"Where are they?!"

"My parents are dead!"

And to a queue of people outside a theatre, "The Dark Knight Rises doesn't start 'til July! You're too early!"

The video shows subway commuters, shoppers and passersby -- even a police officer -- laughing, while others posed for photos, or avoided eye contact (the rote reaction to most strangers who do crazy things in public).

Batman's arch nemesis in the video? An uncooperative beef jerky wrapper. Will he vanquish his opponent? Watch to find out.
