Improve Your Posture: How To Appear Taller, Healthier And More Attractive

How To Improve Your Posture In 6 Steps

We've all been told at some point in our lives to "stand up straight!" -- likely during a family picture, a graduation ceremony or some other authority-figure dictated event.

But as it turns out, that advice can go a long way -- studies have shown that good posture can indicate a sense of power, can make you more attractive to others, and the very act of sitting up straight can help you gain confidence in your own ideas.

The video above showcases six general steps toward achieving better posture, and there's a whole list of health benefits good posture can help with: keeping back pain at bay, protecting our muscles and organs, and allowing for deeper breathing (which in turn can aid in concentration).

It's even become big business as more people find themselves slumped over their desks at work -- devices like the iPosture are on offer to let you know where you're going wrong, and corset-like 'posture correctors' can be worn under clothes. But the best option for getting those shoulders pulled up? Some sweat and time invested in posture exercises to strengthen the core and back.
