Police arrest man for allegedly racist tweet about critically ill Bolton player Fabrice Muamba

LONDON - A man has been arrested after allegedly making racist remarks on Twitter relating to critically ill Bolton player Fabrice Muamba.

Police say a 21-year-old man from south Wales was held earlier Sunday on suspicion of breaching the Public Order Act, whose provisions include making any acts of racist abuse illegal.

Muamba is fighting for his life in hospital after going into cardiac arrest and collapsing during an FA Cup match at Tottenham on Saturday.

South Wales Police say the man who allegedly wrote racially offensive comments is being held in custody in Swansea Central.

Former footballer turned TV pundit Stan Collymore had urged followers on Saturday night to report anyone tweeting racist comments about Muamba to police.
