Ambulance and snowplow collision just one of 20 accidents on snowy Alberta

COCHRANE, Alta. - A collision between an ambulance and a snowplow is just one of 20 traffic accidents RCMP are dealing with on the snowy, icy, Trans Canada Highway west of Calgary.

People inside the two vehicles were take to hospital in other ambulances with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the two vehicles were driving in the same direction in blowing snow when the ambulance rear-ended the snowplow.

There is no immediate information on the other collisions.

RCMP are warning motorists to use extreme caution on roads in the area.
