Toronto's Fall 2012 World Mastercard Fashion Week ended earlier this month, but that doesn't mean Canadian designers stepped out of the spotlight just yet. Earlier this week, The ShOws took over. Paola Fullerton, founder and creative director of this fashion show, created the event to bring Canada's best designers together to showcase their work without incurring any production costs themselves.

Powerhouses David Szeto, Ruffian, Jean Pierre Braganza and Jeremy Laing each put on a proper show at the Ritz-Carlton in Toronto. Szeto and Ruffian took to the runways Monday night with two completely different looks. Szeto introduced beautiful, colourful ladylike knee-length dresses in some of the season's hottest hues: rich blue and green. His models were striking with their long, colour-blocked hair appropriately dubbed 'natural grunge.' Ruffian, on the other hand, went the more tailored route with structured tweed and plaid outfits. Big hair was a theme for Ruffian and it added a nice contrast with the structured two-pieces.

On Tuesday, Jean Pierre Braganza took over the show with purple. No shade or hue was left out of his collection of hip-hugging dresses and sweaters. To match the purple, his models donned gravity defying up-do's with poodle-worthy poofs. The ShOws finished off strong with a showcase of Jeremy Laing's Fall Collection. With sleek hair and subtle makeup, the models walked across the runway in a mixture of simple pieces to close out the night.
