PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - A Peterborough, Ont., hospital says it has fired seven employees over a privacy breach involving patient information.
Officials at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre say the incident relates to a number of confidential medical records.
They say in one case, the accused were curious about a severely overweight patient.
The patient, Sarah Parish, says she is now reluctant to seek treatment at the hospital.
The hospital's vice-president, Jane Parr, has condemned the employees' behaviour but says such abuses are rare.
She says hospital officials are taking steps to prevent any future breaches. (CKRU)
