North Shore mountain biking death was 'tragic misadventure'

A middle-aged man died while mountain biking in the Cypress Bowl area of Vancouver's North Shore on Monday afternoon in what police are calling "a case of tragic misadventure."

West Vancouver Police haven't said how the man died, but officers say the death is not considered suspicious. The man's name was not released, pending the notification of his next of kin.

The mountain bike trails around Cypress Provincial Park and Hollyburn Ridge are considered amongst the steepest and most technical in the network of paths covering the North Shore mountains.
