Vellend, who has contributed to Toronto Life, the Toronto Star and the Grid, brings more than 18 years of experience as a chef, cookbook author and restaurant and wine critic to his new post with the home and lifestyle magazines, House & Home Media said in a release.
After receiving his diploma from George Brown College Chef School, Vellend worked in the Toronto restaurants Centro, Sequoia Grove and Le Nouveau Parigo before joining All Our Favourite Foods as their executive chef.
He has been working as a food feature writer, restaurant reviewer and wine critic for the past eight years.
Vellend's recipes and advice will start appearing in the July 2012 issue of Canadian House & Home.
