Put To The Test: Ardell Self-Adhesive Lashes

Are These Eyelashes Easy To Apply And Do They Add Oomph To Eyes? We Took The Test
Ardell

At some point, we've all purchased something whose results were, er, questionable, and didn't live up to our expectations or deliver the results we were so boldly promised. But no more! For the sake of you and your hard-earned money, The Huffington Post Canada Style team is putting the latest products to the test every week.

Testing Period: One night only

Tested By: Meredith Gillies, Associate Editor

Price: $7.49

What It Is: A set of fake eyelashes made from 100 per cent human hair.

How To: The application process for these lashes is straightforward -- peel them from their adhesive backing, trim them so they fit your eye shape and gently press them onto your eyelid. It's literally that simple: peel, trim, press, instant glamour!

What We Thought: At first I was weary about wearing fake eyelashes out in public (my daily beauty routine is super simple), but it was nice to have really thick and full lashes for a night out. They looked natural, and they looked great on my best friend who also tried a pair (she has shorter lashes than i do). I really liked the fact these lashes were self-adhesive -- I didn't have to deal with globs of glue accumulating on my lash line. I even slept with them on -- they were still adhered and looking good in the morning! Pretty impressive.

The Downfalls: Word to the wise: trim the eyelashes to fit your eye and then adhere them. (You'll poke your eye with the lashes if you try to adhere them first.)

Tips: My friend cut her lashes shorter and created a more subtle "fake" eyelash look. I went for more glamour and coated mine with mascara.

Final Remarks: At this price, this product is worth it -- I won't be making fake lashes a part of my daily beauty routine, but for nights on the town, I'd definitely do it again.
