B.C. float plane crash victims officially identified

The B.C. Coroners Service has officially identified all three people killed in a plane crash near Kelowna, B.C., on Sunday.

The owner and pilot of the plane Colin Moyes, 52, and passengers Peter Keate, 81 and Inez Keate, 79, all died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The plane was on a return trip from Kelowna to Pitt Meadows when it crashed on the forested mountainside near Highway 97C around 6:45 p.m. PT Sunday, killing all three people on board.

Moyes, a West Vancouver resident kept the amphibious 1966 Beaver float plane in a hanger at the Pitt Meadows airport. His relationship with the passengers has not been released by officials.

Coroner Mark Coleman said further investigation is needed to determine the specific cause of death. The cause of the crash has also not been released by officials.
