Highway 400, which is clogged with drivers en route to cottage country for the long weekend, has re-opened to traffic in both directions following a tractor-trailer crash south of Barrie.
The crash happened on at 12:30 p.m. on Highway 400 near Highway 89, about 20 minutes south of Barrie.
Police say a tractor-trailer loaded with gravel crashed through a guardrail after blowing a tire, closing the busy highway in both directions. The highway was closed in both directions shortly after the crash.
It re-opened to traffic shortly after 2 p.m., but the crash has caused delays that will likely slow drivers heading north for the long weekend.
