Coldplay named as headline act for closing ceremony of London Paralympic Games

LONDON - Rock band Coldplay will be the headline act at the closing ceremony for the London Paralympic Games on Sept. 9.

Organizers made the announcement as they prepared to put unsold tickets back on sale on Monday, which will mark 100 days until the Paralympics start on Aug. 29.

London organizing chairman Sebastian Coe says "Coldplay are going to be helping us celebrate not only the end of a fantastic Paralympic Games, but also the end of a seven-year journey."

Tickets start at 10 pounds ($15. 80), or 5 pounds ($7.90) for youngsters and seniors.

The Olympics, which London won in a 2005 vote, will be staged from July 27-Aug. 12.
