Milton GO riders warned to make alternative plans

GO Transit is warning customers on its Milton line that a possible strike by Canadian Pacific Railway crews could affect service on Wednesday morning.

"There is a possibility of a strike by Teamsters Canada Rail Conference representing Canadian Pacific Rail train crews and rail traffic controllers. A strike could occur as early as May 23," GO said in a statement.

The rail line used by GO is owned by Canadian Pacific and GO says if there's a strike there will be no train service along the line and riders should prepare alternate ways of getting to work.

Bus service would not be affected.

There is also the possibility of the strike could halt train service between Hamilton and Toronto.

"All [four] trains originating from the Hamilton station would originate from Aldershot station starting Wednesday morning. GO bus shuttles will be provided to customers from Hamilton to Aldershot," the statement said.
