Blue Bombers set second straight season-ticket record of more than 22,000

WINNIPEG - Demand for season tickets in the new home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers has driven sales to a second consecutive record.

Bomber president Garth Buchko says sales have topped 22,050 and they haven't even been opened to the general public yet.

Only past season ticket holders and those on a waiting list have been eligible.

They go on general sale Monday and all last season the club sold a total of what was then a record 21,155 tickets.

Buchko says there have only been a few cancellations since it was confirmed Investors Group Field wouldn't open until September, with games played at Canad Inns Stadium until then.

He says fans are lining up at seven every morning at the Bomber offices to get their tickets.
