Transport Quebec is advising drivers to avoid the Champlain Bridge corridor this weekend as a blitz of major road work closes down some lanes.
One lane of the bridge will be open in each direction Saturday. After 8 a.m. Sunday, an additional lane will be open in the direction of the South Shore.
Throughout the weekend, only one lane will be open to traffic in each direction at the Highway 15 entrance to the bridge.
Lane width on the Champlain corridor will be reduced to three metres. Drivers of wider vehicles are being advised to take other routes.
The access ramps to the bridge will be completely closed from Route 132. Other ramps on Highway 15 on the Montreal side will also be closed during the work.
