Man Suffers Ear Injury In Altercation On School Bus

Two men are facing charges after an apparent road rage incident that led to an altercation on a school bus and involved a hatchet on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say that two drivers — one who was behind the wheel of a school bus — became involved in a conflict near Islington Avenue and Dixon Road in the city’s west end.

Const. Tony Vella told CBC Radio’s Here and Now that a man driving a car got out of his vehicle and approached the bus at the stop light at the intersection.

“The bus driver let the man into the bus and there was an altercation … and there was also a hatchet that was on the bus that was used,” Vella said.

“As a result, one person has sustained an injury to his ear. He’s been taken to hospital and the other person has been arrested.”

No one else was on the bus at the time of the incident.

The school bus driver faces a weapons charge. The other driver faces charges of assault causing bodily harm.
