By definition, trends are fleeting. They're ephemeral. And each day we see our fair share of looks we'd like to remove from our sartorial lexicon. So join us, each week, as we analyze a trend that's had its 15 minutes of fame. These looks are well into their Minute 16, folks. It's time to usher them toward stage left.
The Trend:We love the 90s. There's no denying that. But we're only down with the fashion -- not so much the beauty trends (roll-on glitter, enough said). And the 90s are when the over-plucked, super-thin eyebrow rose to fame.
Chief Offenders: Good news! This trend has almost fallen by the wayside, with the exception of Pamela Anderson and a handful of reality TV stars. But we all have that one friend who needs some extra convincing to put down the tweezers.
What's Wrong With It: Your over-plucked eyebrows make you look, well, surprised. All the time. Which may be okay if you're constantly being thrown surprise parties, but otherwise, it's not the most flattering look. Over-arched eyebrows are a thing of the past, and as fashion evolves so must our beauty routine.
May We Suggest: We love a clean eyebrow without rogue hairs or the chance of a unibrow, but sometimes we can get tweezer happy, too. If this happens, grab an eyebrow pencil or eyeshadow with an angled brush and gently fill in your brows. This will give your face a natural appearance that's not overworked. And we're all about natural beauty.
