Jemima Kirke Pregnant: 'Girls' Star Is Expecting Her Second Child

This 'Girls' Star Is Expecting A Baby!

Jemima Kirke, one of the stars of HBO’s hit series “Girls,” is pregnant with her second child. The 27-year-old actress and painter confirmed the news to a New York Daily News reporter on Wednesday night at an after-party for the New York premiere of Woody Allen’s “To Rome, With Love.”

A reporter approached Kirke -- and her visibly pregnant belly -- at the party and congratulated her on her pregnancy. According to the Daily News, she responded: "'Thank you,' … before saying she was contemplating 'stealing that woman's pasta' as the food glided by."

Kirke, daughter of Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke, currently lives in Brooklyn with her husband Michael Mosberg and their 20-month-old daughter, Rafaella. She gave birth to Rafaella just before filming the first season of “Girls.” (Visit The Glow to see an incredibly adorable photo spread of mother and daughter in their Brooklyn Heights home.) Kirke said it was "Girls" writer, producer, director and star Lena Dunham’s persistence that convinced her to join the cast with a newborn. "Lena [Dunham] came to me two days before I gave birth -- we were just lying on the bed, chatting and she'd like, "Will you be in my pilot?' I said, 'Are you kidding? I will have just had this baby and be 30 pounds overweight.' But I did it. She’s got a way with words,” Kirke told The Glow.

She also spoke with The Glow candidly about her pregnancy and the struggles -- and joys -- of becoming a mother. “When I was pregnant, things got swollen in ways I never knew possible,” she said.

Oh Jemima/Jessa, we think you’re pretty great. We also look forward to seeing how Lena Dunham will creatively hide Kirke’s growing stomach during “Girls” season 2.
