York Regional Police say they have seized 20,000 marijuana plants, following a months-long investigation into five suspected indoor grow-ops in the Greater Toronto Area.
Police say they undertook a series of raids on Tuesday, which targeted two industrial units in Toronto and Mississauga, as well as residences in Brantford, Markham and Toronto.
The plants are believed to have a street value of $20 million.
Eight people are now facing charges, including four Toronto residents.
The accused are due to appear in a Newmarket court on Wednesday.
